Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her high-quality performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her film Piano was awarded an Oscar. In her early years she began acting on stage in several Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. She has had a passion for acting ever since when she was in the school. The first time she appeared in a show in the fifth grade was Helen Keller. She became deaf in one ear after suffering from the mumps virus, however she did not let this disability dampen her desire to be an actor. When she was a teenager, she took classes in drama at college before moving to New York City from Pittsburgh in order to achieve her goals. Hunter was stuck in the elevator of playwright Beth Henley when she met her. Together they created Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. Her first role in film came when she moved in Los Angeles. For the past 30 years Holly Hunter has been on numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
