Holly Hunter, an American actor and producer, is well-known for her stellar performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with many awards for her performance which includes an Oscar. Her career began acting as an actress both on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. Since her childhood she's always been enthusiastic in the field of acting. She played Helen Keller as a fifth-grade pupil in a school performance. The fifth grade was the year that after having mumps she lost hearing in her left ear. However, she did not let that stop her. At college, she was a theatre student and later moved from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her dream. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart the first movie Hunter made. After moving to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to get films to play. A supporting role was found for her in Swing Shift. For the past 30 years Holly Hunter has been on various TV series and movies. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
